Photoshop

Computers and technology have come an awfully long way in the past couple of decades. It seems that if you have a computer and the right software that you can do just about anything to any image!

I decided to hop on the photoshop bandwagon and took a class this weekend at NYU. Some of my images are below.

"What's behind these doors?"It's SpongeBob and Patrick!!!

"Want to take a few years off?"I'm practically a plastic sugeon now!!!

And finally, my final... We had all sorts of requirements and this is what my collage ended up looking like...Note the ice cream cone instead of a torch!

For my next trick - I will crop 10 lbs out of all my pictures...

Cold

It is so cold that it won't snow.

It is so cold that all the dog pee is frozen to the sidewalk.

It is so cold that my hands are all dry and rough from the cold air.

It is so cold that I don't have to worry about my hair frizzing up.

It is so cold that I have to wear a functional knit hat - I never wear functional knit hats...

It is so cold that I have to wear ear muffs and a functional knit hat.

It is so cold that I have to wear my Uggs to walk to work and then change shoes at the office.

It is so cold that Minnie has to wear a Sweater and a Jacket - and she still shivers...

It is so cold that I have to wear a Sweater and a Jacket and a Wool Coat - and I still shiver...

It is so cold that I am excited because it's supposed to be 30 degrees tomorrow.

Bring on the heat wave!

Resolutions

Each new year often brings new year's resolutions. I am not big on resolutions because I think that most people make resolutions that are unattainable, hence why most people give up by the end of January.

I just read an article in the newspaper today that it takes three to six months for a behavior to become habit, so hopefully this year I can turn my resolutions from "every now and then" to "regular behaviors".

I made resolutions last year for, like, the first time ever. I tried to make them 1) realistic and 2) to better myself. In 2007, I've decided to keep the same three resolutions that I made in 2006. I made some progress last year, but there is still much room for improvement. My list reads more like a "to-do" list, but they are resolutions nonetheless.

Here is my list in no particular order:

1) Take a multi-vitamin every day. (Hey-I'm no spring chicken and it's time to start taking care of myself!)

2) Sit up straight. (Years of stress has taken it's toll. This is more of a directive from the chiropractor - my neck and shoulders are a complete mess!)

3) Gossip less. (Yes, less. Like I said earlier - I think resolutions should be realistic.)

Other things I'd like "to do" in 2007 are to eat fish 1-2 times a week, get to work on time and develop a regular work-out schedule. However, I need to get myself some sleep and my daily activities into some kind of a pattern before I can turn these things into something that is a realistic part of my daily life. But at least I have something to look forward to for 2008!

New

Today is a new day. A new month. A new year.

Yes, today is the first day of the new year - 2007. Although my Trojans got the year off to a great start with a win over Michigan, the rest of January didn't turn out so well. So I decided that with the first of February I would simply start the year over!

I know that not much will change - at least in the immediate future. My job won't change. My apartment won't change. Minnie won't change. But I've changed and I hope to change more. All for the better, of course!

So far...I've only changed my blog. I decided that Alpha was a little too egotistical, so I went back to what I know. I've tried to corner the market on "cateinthecity" since the very first time I logged onto Yahoo! in 1999. Cateinthecity is also something that won't change and I am happy for that!

Now...where's that bottle of champagne???
