Summer

If June 21st is the official first day of summer, then Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial first day of summer for all New Yorkers!

This is the weekend where everyone hangs up the suit and tie, pulls out the flip-flops and gets the heck out of dodge! Personally, my weekend got off to a slow start, but it picked up by Sunday.

Heading into this last week of May, the weather here has been super warm, but with blue skies. I just love it! Even though I was totally bummed to have to go back to the office on Tuesday, I have been smiling a lot because I am just so stoked that summer has finally arrived. It's totally fun to see everyone walking around with red noses and tan lines from their weekends in the sun!

Cheers to summer!

Milan

I traveled to Milan, Italy at the end of April for the International Furniture Fair for work. Even though I knew I was going to have to work the whole time, I was still very excited since I had never been to Italy.

The trip was non-stop with meetings, parties, press functions, Salone and more meetings. We covered a lot of ground while there, but it was usually on the way to and from something! We spent a good amount of time in a section called the Quadrilateral - it's where all the great shops and boutiques are.

On our way to the subway one day we did manage to see the Galleria (pictured) and the Duomo Cathedral which are two main tourist areas and stopped long enough to take pictures. Other than that, we didn't even see a postcard!

Ah, the casualties of work...
